Approach

How Koesion engages

No landed armies of consultants, no hundred-page reports nobody reads. Koesion works in focused, senior-led engagements built around the decisions your organization needs to make — and the capability it needs to keep.

The work, concretely

Architecture discovery

Mapping the real system — services, dependencies, contracts, data flows, and the informal decisions that shaped them. Discovery produces a shared picture before anyone proposes a change.

Domain modeling

Event storming and context mapping sessions with the people who know the business. Boundaries emerge from the domain, and the model becomes the reference for every design decision after it.

Platform assessment

A structured look at your delivery platform: golden paths, self-service, security posture, developer experience. What teams route around tells us more than what the platform claims to offer.

Microservice design

Designing services deliberately — purpose, boundary, contracts, events, data ownership — documented in MICROSERVICE.md format so the design survives beyond the workshop.

Delivery enablement

Working alongside teams as designs go to production: pairing on the first implementations, adjusting the design where reality pushes back, transferring the judgment, not just the artifacts.

Governance and coaching

Installing lightweight governance — ADRs, review cadences, fitness functions — and coaching architects and tech leads to run it without us.

Roadmaps and transformation planning

Sequencing change into increments that each deliver value, with explicit risks and reversal points. A roadmap is a set of decisions, not a Gantt chart.

Engagement model

Six steps, one continuous thread

Engagements move through six phases. Not every engagement needs all six — but every engagement knows which phase it is in.

01 / 06

Assess

Understand the current system, the constraints, and the actual problem — before proposing anything.

02 / 06

Design

Produce target architectures, service designs, and decision records grounded in the assessment.

03 / 06

Align

Bring engineering, product, and leadership to the same picture — and the same trade-offs.

04 / 06

Enable

Work with teams on the first real implementations. Designs earn credibility in production.

05 / 06

Govern

Install the lightweight practices that keep decisions visible and boundaries intact.

06 / 06

Evolve

Revisit the architecture as the business changes. Systems that evolve were designed to.

See where an engagement would start for you.
